Approved Human Study Sets Up Pivotal Test for Aging Theory from Harvard’s David Sinclair

In a major proving ground test for the longevity field, the FDA has given its approval for a human trial for a gene therapy attempting a near-total rejuvenating reset of cells.

The FDA has greenlighted Life Biosciences’ first human trial testing whether their gene therapy can confer a near-total rejuvenating reset of cells.

Clinical Trials

Based on current scientific evidence, Dutch researchers have ranked existing anti-aging interventions based on how likely they are to protect against DNA damage and aging.

DNA Repair

Model: Naturally aged 24-month-old C57BL/6 mice 
Dose: 0.1 mg/kg/day of folic acid administered orally for 12 months

Supplementation with vitamin B9, also known as folic acid or folate, prevents cellular senescence and slows vascular aging in naturally aged mice.  

Cardiovascular

Dark Chocolate Compound Linked to Slower Aging, Study Finds

Elevated circulating theobromine—derived from cocoa—was associated with a slower pace of aging, according to two assessments.

Model: 20-month-old male C57BL/6 mice 
Dosage: 3,000 to 4,000 µg of ouabain dissolved in 27,000 to 36,000 µL of PBS injected twice per week every third week over a period of three months
