In mice, cordycepin—a molecule found in cordyceps mushrooms—prolongs lifespan and improves memory, strength, cardiac function, hormone levels, and metabolism.

Model: Male COX7RP transgenic mice with systemic overexpression of COX7RP, aged under standard laboratory conditions and compared with age-matched wild-type controls.
Dosage: Not applicable. COX7RP activity was increased via genetic overexpression rather than drug administration.

Boosting mitochondrial efficiency by increasing COX7RP activity extended lifespan in mice while improving energy production and reducing inflammation.
